Helping a loved one capture their personal life story can be a deeply fulfilling bonding experience between a caregiver and the person they care for. In the process, we come to understand our loved one and ourselves in a new way. This workshop will introduce a life review journaling workbook called “Voices of the Heart” created by our partners at Big Bend Hospice. A copy of the journal will be provided to each participant, and they will learn tips and strategies for life review interviewing of a loved one.

As part of our time together during the Life Review presentation, we are asking each participant to come prepared to share a cherished memory or favorite family anecdote that is a part of their own family’s legacy. Maybe it’s a funny story that is recounted every time the family is gathered for holidays? Or, it could be a personal remembrance from your childhood that your own family may not know? Whatever the special story that is in your heart, we would look forward to hearing it. This is a completely optional activity, only if you would enjoy participating. It will not impact how much you receive from the Life Review presentation.
